We are excited to invite a dedicated and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our specialized Mental Health Team supporting the needs of students in the Atlanta area. Work Environment
This position offers a remote work setting but is deeply integrated into our outpatient office community in Atlanta, Georgia. You will collaborate virtually with fellow professionals, educators, and specialists, all of whom share a common goal of supporting our students. While most of your responsibilities will be conducted from your home office, occasional visits may be required depending on specific team meetings or trainings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed mental health assessments, evaluating students' emotional and psychological needs.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address issues such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to support emotional regulation and the development of effective coping strategies.
- Work collaboratively with educators, speech and occupational therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic care tailored to each student's unique requirements.
- Provide crisis intervention services to support students during mental health emergencies, ensuring their immediate safety and well-being.
- Educate students and families about mental health conditions, fostering a greater understanding and promoting available resources.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems when appropriate.
- Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences to discuss student progress and enhance service delivery.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training sessions, workshops, and peer discussions, staying informed about the latest regulations and best practices in mental health.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on students within the special education framework, dealing with a range of challenges including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, emotional disturbances, and trauma-related issues. As a critical member of our team, you will directly influence these students' academic and personal growth by equipping them with the necessary tools to navigate their emotional and behavioral hurdles.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
- Current and valid LCSW licensure in Georgia.
- A robust understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and trauma-informed care.
- Proficient in conducting assessments, diagnosing conditions, and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues alike.
- Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems and other digital platforms effectively.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working in a clinical setting focusing on mental health issues involving children or adolescents.
- Experience delivering therapy in educational environments or similar contexts featuring diverse client needs.
- A strong foundation in conducting both individual and group therapy.
Compensation and Benefits
