The Program includes a certification at the conclusion to demonstrate the skills necessary to successfully perform a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family.The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. The role involves acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting, and is responsible for processing teller transactions and functioning as a member of platform staff.Responsibilities include:Using the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.Maintaining in-depth knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommending appropriate solutions using our value proposition.Utilizing CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.Primarily focusing on cross‑selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage onsite presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events.Establishing close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment) and referring customers appropriately.Consistently meeting/exceeding customer experience and individual/team production goals and enhancing year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.Providing guidance to CSRs regarding the sales and referral process.Promoting customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.Answering customer questions confidently and owning customer issues.Maintaining confidentiality of all business information.Following the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies.Adhering to established policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of Retail products.Participating in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.Participating in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.Keeping up to date on Retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and unnecessary risk or exposure.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDCollege degree or work experience providing transferable skills, or a combination of education and experience.Preferred experience in the financial industry.Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities designed to acquire new consumer household and small business customers and/or cross‑sell to established customers.Ability to demonstrate understanding of advanced math functions for analysis of credit and financial information.Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in appearance and verbal/written communication.Working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to utilize good judgment in making sound decisions.Position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
