This role will partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to drive key company initiatives and provide hands‑on knowledge of key accounting and reporting functions.Principal responsibilities and time‑commitments:40% Fixed Asset Accounting ActivitiesManage SAP Project System subledger, including releasing approved projects to receive costs in SAPAssist with reviewing invoices for accurate codingWork with business partners to assist with creation of new projectsReview and contribute to the design or enhancement of the Fixed Assets module in SAPAssist with Treasury functions as needed30% Month End Close ProcessesAssist with settlements and posting of depreciation expenseSupport closing calendar timelines for assigned tasks and communicate potential issues timely/accuratelyExecute queries and provide management with complete and accurate financial analysis/reportsComplete General Ledger balance sheet and expense account analysis and work with business partners to resolve reconciling itemsPrepare and book standard periodic journal entries and non‑standard entries for adjustments determined to be necessary through account reconciliation and analysisAssist with recording monthly accruals for several assigned areas; partner with business to ensure timeliness and accuracy of accruals as neededAssist with the monthly Finance Cost Center reporting as needed20% Audit and SOX Compliance FunctionMaintain Fixed Assets supporting documentationAssist internal and external audit teams during financial and SOX audits/reviewsSupport the Tax department providing requested support for tax auditsPerform specialized analysis at management request10% OtherPrepare company‑wide current‑year, future‑year and long‑range planning projected depreciation reports and interim updated versions, including analysis of business partner's capital spending plansParticipate in special projects as assignedAssist the Corporate Accounting group, as requiredDocument business processes and update business process flowsMust HaveMinimum of one to two (1‑2) years of accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalentKnowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and country‑specific GAAP or other multi‑country accounting experience is preferredProficiency in Excel; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and exhibits a high degree of accuracyKnowledge of SAP or equivalent.Preferred Skills And ExperienceCompetent to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and changing environment; flexibility is a mustAble to handle confidential company financial and operational information in a responsible mannerCommitted to meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables regardless of obstacles (overtime, nights, and occasional weekends may be required as needed)Experience with Project System and HFMCareer DevelopmentSuccess starts from within, and Carter's offers several paths to enhance career evolution, including Carter's University, Toastmasters, mentorship programs, and more.Additional InformationNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all‑inclusive.
