Post Charge Off - Repossession Specialist IIPosition Summary : As a Post Charge Off - Repossession Specialist II, you will serve as a key liaison in the repossession process for delinquent accounts. This role involves working directly with borrowers to identify and implement recovery solutions, while coordinating with the replevins team when legal action is required. You will manage escalated cases and may provide guidance and support to junior team members. The position requires strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills to ensure efficient and compliant asset recovery.Assign charged‑off accounts for repossession, including involuntary, voluntary, and abandoned units.Coordinate with repossession vendors; update internal systems and notify relevant departments upon securing vehicles.Conduct preliminary skip tracing and maintain regular follow‑ups with agents on account status.Monitor accounts for payments or arrangements; apply holds or initiate closures as needed.Forward unresolved cases to the skip department for further investigation.Support agent selection, fee negotiation, and verification of insurance and bond compliance.Ensure adherence to legal guidelines including RTC, SCL, SSCRA, and bankruptcy protections.Process reinstatements and redemptions, audit invoices, and assist with vehicle release procedures.Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive consumer data, including Social Security numbers and birth dates.Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support departmental or organizational goals.Qualifications and Competencies RequiredRequired Experience2+ years of experience in auto collections, with working knowledge of repossession regulations and policiesCall center background preferred for handling customer interactions and account resolutionEducationHigh School Diploma and/or GED.Skills RequiredStrong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; effective cross‑team collaborationSkilled in organization, time management, and prioritization within fast‑paced environmentsProficient in Microsoft Office; experienced with document management systems and compliance workflowsSolid analytical abilities with knowledge of captive finance, auctions, FDCPA, and collection laws; basic math proficiency for financial tasksAdditional RequirementsOvertime required – required on an as needed basis.Travel 0‑10% – as required on an as needed basis.Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Dallas, TX (Hybrid) Atlanta, GA (Hybrid )Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
