Marietta Center for Nursing and Healing is seeking an experienced
RN Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) to lead education, training, and infection prevention at our skilled nursing facility. This is a rewarding opportunity for a clinically strong nurse who loves mentoring staff, fostering a culture of safety, and driving quality of care.
About the Role As our SDC, you'll be the cornerstone of staff education and development-overseeing new hire orientation, ongoing training, and compliance programs. You'll also manage employee health and lead infection prevention initiatives, ensuring our team is prepared, supported, and always regulatory-ready.
Key Responsibilities - Ensures facility complies with regulatory requirements relating to staff credentialing and education.
- Provides services associated with the ongoing professional development of staff at the facility.
- Conducts new employee orientation and coordinates competency completion.
- Ensures the delivery of annual mandatory and continuous education for staff using internal or external resources according to state and federal regulations and company policy.
- Teaches certain in-house courses, such as the CNA training program, special care unit training, etc.
- Coordinates employee health program (immunizations, flu shots, physical exams, etc.)
- Monitors and ensures current licensure and certifications of facility staff
- Maintains employee education, training, and health files.
- As an Infection Preventionist, you will lead the charge in our compliance efforts with infection prevention requirements.
What We're Looking For - Active RN license in good standing
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong communication, teaching, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of infection prevention standards and training best practices
- Comfort with data tracking and improvement planning
