Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver exceptional maternity services.
Responsibilities:
- Assess fetal and maternal conditions to monitor labor progress and identify complications.
- Administer medications and interventions as per physician orders and protocols.
- Educate patients on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record system.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in patient status during labor.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to coordinate care.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- Hold an active RN license in good standing.
- Current AHA BLS and NRP certifications required.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred.
- Knowledge of pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and preterm labor.
- Ability to work variable shifts including holidays.
