Job Description NICU Registered Nurse (RN)Position Overview The NICU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality care to neonates in a Level IV/surgical NICU. This role requires specialized knowledge and experience to manage complex conditions and support families during critical times.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care for neonates with various diagnoses, including Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS), Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC), Tracheoesophageal Fistula (TEF) and Esophageal Atresia (EA), abdominal wall defects, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD), pulmonary hypertension, and pre/peri/post-operative care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and assessments.
- Educate and support families regarding their infants' care and conditions.
- Float to other units as needed to support patient care.
Qualifications- Current RN license.
- Experience in a Level IV/surgical NICU setting is required.
- PALS certification is required; NRP certification is preferred.
- Ability to work at least one holiday during the contract period.
- Commitment to a nicotine-free workplace; must pass nicotine and drug screenings with no exceptions.
- Must obtain the flu vaccine with no exceptions; religious and medical exemptions will not be accepted.
Schedule This position involves weekend block shifts, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
