Job Summary:
The PACU RN provides specialized postoperative care to patients recovering from surgery, ensuring optimal outcomes through monitoring, assessment, and intervention. This role requires delivering high-quality, emergency-ready care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions continuously, identifying potential complications early.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate patient recovery and discharge planning.
- Monitor vital signs, neurological status, and pain levels, adjusting care as needed.
- Document patient care accurately within electronic health records.
- Participate in on-call rotations and holiday coverage as required.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent experience in a PACU or similar unit.
- Possess current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record systems.
- Have strong assessment and critical thinking skills for high-acuity cases.
- Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Be able to work flexible hours, including holidays, with a positive attitude.
