Oncology Nurse
Provide specialized nursing care in an inpatient isolation unit for patients undergoing complex treatments such as cell therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and transplants. The role involves delivering intermediate-level care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patientsafety and comfort.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood product transfusions according to established protocols.
- Monitor and assess patients receiving cell therapy and transplant procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in the electronic health record system.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient treatments and ensure safety.
- Follow infection control protocols, including managing patients in isolation units.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations, providing quality bedside care.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an oncology or transplant setting.
- Be certified in AHA BLS; AHA ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency with electronic health records, preferably Cerner.
- Have experience caring for immunocompromised patients in an inpatient setting.
- Able to work varied shifts, including 7pm-7am schedules.
