Position Overview
The WordPress Website Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of The Donovan's Venom website. This role ensures the website remains accurate, engaging, functional, secure, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, proactive, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with Brand, Marketing, Strategy, and Analytics teams. This position will play an important role in translating organizational priorities into effective digital experiences and ensuring website updates are completed accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Management & Content Updates
- Manage and maintain The Donovan's Venom WordPress website on a day-to-day basis.
- Complete timely website updates, including editing and publishing pages, uploading content, and updating images, links, forms, calls to action, and other site elements.
- Ensure website content is accurate, current, properly formatted, and consistent with brand standards.
- Coordinate and implement website changes based on marketing campaigns, organizational initiatives, programs, partnerships, and fundraising priorities.
- Manage website content calendars and prioritize updates according to business needs and deadlines.
2.Landing Pages & Digital Campaigns
- Create, build, and optimize landing pages for campaigns, programs, partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and other strategic efforts.
- Ensure landing pages provide clear calls to action and an intuitive user experience.
- Collaborate with marketing and strategy teams to translate campaign objectives into effective website experiences.
- Test pages across browsers and devices before launch to ensure functionality and consistency.
3.Website Performance & Troubleshooting
- Monitor website functionality and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot formatting, navigation, broken links, forms, mobile responsiveness, and other website-related issues.
- Conduct routine quality assurance checks to ensure a consistent experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Monitor website performance and identify opportunities to improve speed, usability, and overall functionality.
- Coordinate with internal teams or external vendors when issues require additional technical support.
4.WordPress, Plugins & Site Maintenance
- Manage WordPress themes, plugins, page builders, integrations, and website configurations.
- Perform routine WordPress, theme, and plugin updates while minimizing disruption to the website.
- Maintain website backups and support routine security and maintenance activities.
- Monitor plugin and integration compatibility and address conflicts or issues as needed.
- Maintain organized documentation of website updates, configurations, and recurring maintenance activities.
5.User Experience, Accessibility & SEO
- Recommend improvements to website structure, navigation, content organization, and overall user experience.
- Identify opportunities to improve website accessibility and usability.
- Apply basic SEO best practices, including page titles, headings, metadata, image optimization, internal linking, and content structure.
- Partner with Analytics and Marketing teams to monitor website performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Use website analytics and performance data to inform recommendations and content optimization.
6.Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, Strategy, Analytics, and other stakeholders to ensure the website supports organizational objectives.
- Translate stakeholder requests into clear, actionable website updates.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Communicate website changes, technical considerations, and potential issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Volunteer Commitment Expectations
- Estimated Commitment:10-15 hours per week
- Availability: Flexible, aligned with campaign timelines
- Participation in marketing and project meetings required
Minimum Qualifications( Education and experience) 2+ years of experience managing or maintaining WordPress websites.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress themes, plugins, page builders, and content updates.
- Experience creating landing pages and supporting digital marketing campaigns.
- Working knowledge of website performance, SEO, accessibility, and basic analytics.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, web development, information technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

- HTML/CSS Fundamentals – Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for basic website customization, formatting, and troubleshooting.
- SEO & Digital Optimization – Understanding of SEO fundamentals and best practices for improving website visibility, content structure, metadata, links, and page performance.
- Website Analytics – Ability to use website analytics and performance data to identify trends, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
- User Experience (UX) – Strong understanding of website usability, navigation, content organization, accessibility, and user-centered design principles.
- Website Security & Maintenance – Knowledge of routine WordPress updates, plugin management, backups, security practices, and website maintenance.
- Quality Assurance – Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on testing content, functionality, links, forms, and responsive layouts before and after deployment.
- Project & Time Management – Ability to manage multiple website requests, prioritize competing deadlines, and deliver projects accurately and on schedule.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Effective collaborator who can partner with Brand, Marketing, Strategy, Analytics, and Technology teams to achieve shared objectives.
- Communication – Ability to clearly communicate technical information, project status, priorities, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
