Every associate is part of our success.The Senior Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes compiling and analyzing financial information, preparing journal entries, reconciling reports and financial data, preparing balance sheet account reconciliations, and assisting in preparing monthly and ad hoc reports. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for developing and monitoring compliance with accounting policies and procedures and providing accounting guidance and support to stores and Store Support Center departments to ensure accuracy in reporting and compliance with GAAP.Scope of ResponsibilityFacilitates and completes monthly close procedures, including journal entries and general ledger reviewsPerforms a variety of general to complex accounting and financial analysis functions in support of departmental dutiesPrepares monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting and ad hoc analyses for senior managementEnsures management teams have appropriate information to facilitate budget forecast and other reporting needsAssists with researching and providing guidance to senior management on critical accounting issues and the impact of new accounting standardsAnswers queries from stores as well as Store Support Center departmentsMaintains relevant financial close and reporting documentation and creates new documentation as necessary to ensure compliance with internal controlsProactively assists company external auditors and internal auditors, as needed, to ensure an effective and efficient audit processMentors staff and assists with review of work performed by staffIn-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and SOX internal controlsAbility to research difficult accounting topics, write position papers, and present to the Corporate Controller, CFO, and internal and external auditorsDrive process improvements and develop systematic processesAbility to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to provide excellent customer service to internal customers and partner with other functions to improve processes and create valueSkill in organization, prioritization, and attention to detailExperience & EducationBachelor's degree in accounting required3+ years of progressive responsibilityLicensed CPA or successfully working toward obtaining CPA licensePublic accounting experience a plusWorking Conditions (travel, hours, environment)Limited travel required including air and car travelThe noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.Physical/Sensory RequirementsSedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
