Job DescriptionAssociate Attorney for an Expanding Marietta Law FirmOur firm is seeking to hire a full-time associate attorney to join our expanding team. Ideal candidates would possess 0-3 years of civil litigation experience. A candidate should be familiar with handling civil cases from beginning to end, preparing for and taking depositions, drafting and arguing motions, attending hearings and trials, possess strong research skills, have experience with varied aspects of legal writings, and be able to move and manage assigned files. This position will have the opportunity to work directly with and learn from a team of associates and partners. Generous benefits packages.ResponsibilitiesWork directly alongside the Partner with clients to analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients of potential outcomes, and determine and execute the best and most effective strategy and/or solution for client's best interestCommunicate with the Partner, other attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and clients to ensure cases are handled in the most efficient manner possibleConduct client meetings to obtain vital information to assist in preparation of drafting Answers, discovery responses, and other pleadingsDraft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, discovery, settlement agreements and perform legal research when appropriatePrepare for and conduct both bench and jury trials, attend hearings, attend and take depositions, and prepare for and participate in other legal proceedings as necessary, such as oral arguments, mediation, arbitration, etc.Delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants when appropriate and monitor their progress and performanceQualifications and LicensingGeorgia Bar requiredJuris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law schoolLitigation experience, preferred but not requiredInsurance Defense experience, preferred but not requiredExceptional communication skills and problem solving skillsWe value experience, but your personality and character are also important considerationsAbout Our FirmJones & Palmer, LLC is a Marietta, Georgia based law firm that currently has 6 attorneys and a strong group of support staff.
