Responsible for accounting/reporting functions of real estate development and acquisition firm portfolios. This person will be the lead accounting contact to our third-party building owners, working closely with their team to ensure they receive accurate and timely information. This person will work closely with our company's accounting manager, property manager, asset manager, and all accounting personnel.Qualifications 2+ Experience in real estate/property accounting, particularly in industrial or commercialKnowledge of Financial Reporting requirements, including internal management reports and investor or lender reporting.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.Experience with Yardi accounting software is strongly preferred ; Construction Manager, Forecast Manager or PayScan experience is a plusProficiency in preparing/analyzing Financial Statements, supporting schedules for multiple properties.Experience with Journal Entries (Accounting), account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.Comfort with accounting software and Excel, including working with large data sets and creating financial models or analyses.Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site in Atlanta, GA.Prepare financial statements for property portfolios: General Ledger month-end close, actual to budget variance review, audits, knowledge of real estate accounting softwarePrepare additional schedules to support account balances/specifically required by ownersSubmit financial statements and work papers in reviewable form (including documentation) and within the proper time frame for reviewResponsible for cash management of assigned propertiesEnsure all bank statements are reconciled on a timely basis, follow-up on all outstanding checks and reconciling items monthlyMaintain a working knowledge of mortgage agreements, management agreements, lease agreements for assigned propertiesAssist property manager in responding to tenant/owner requests for financial informationReview complex property budgets and forecasting for the portfolioParticipation in new property/client transitions/client audit requestsMay oversee the completion of projects including independent preparation and review of CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, purchase/sale proration, lease abstract analysis, property software setups, opening/closing entry generationsOversee Accounts Payable process.
