By analyzing market trends and overseeing proposal development, the Manager ensures alignment with institutional priorities and drives successful funding outcomes.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to identify and secure funding opportunities that support the institution's research initiatives.Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, private industry, and nonprofit organizations, to enhance collaborative research efforts.Analyze market trends and funding landscapes to identify potential research partnerships and funding sources that align with the institution's research priorities.Lead the proposal development process by coordinating interdisciplinary teams, drafting proposals, and ensuring adherence to funding agency guidelines and institutional policies.Prepare and deliver detailed presentations and reports on business development activities, funding successes, and partnership outcomes to senior leadership and relevant committees.Monitor key performance indicators and evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives to inform strategic planning and resource allocation.Organize and facilitate outreach events, workshops, and networking opportunities to promote the institution's research capabilities and engage with potential funding partners.Provide expert guidance and training to faculty and researchers on grant writing techniques, proposal development, and effective engagement with funding organizations.Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.3+ years of relevant experience; 1+ years of supervisory knowledge.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in a related discipline; advanced certification may be preferred or required.Strong business acumen and organizational awareness.Proposal strategy and pipeline development expertise.Executive presentation and facilitation skills.Strong negotiation and influence skills.Ability to work effectively with executive leadership, program teams, and external partners.SalaryCompetitive, commensurate with experience; range $80,000 to $90,000 per year.Skills & AbilitiesPerforms all standard and technical aspects of the job.Advanced knowledge of a specific professional discipline and operational knowledge of related work groups.Applies in-depth professional, technical, or industry knowledge to manage significantly complex assignments, projects, and programs.Other InformationThis is a supervisory position.This position does not have any financial responsibilities.This role is not considered a position of trust.This position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card).This position does not require security clearance.Background CheckCandidate will be required to pass a pre‑employment background screening.Equal Employment OpportunityThe Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
