The Jacobs team is the largest water practice in the Atlanta market with a team of 125 determined, high‑performing individuals working with most major metro‑area clients on a vast array of projects. You will engage in project assignments serving our municipal, federal, industrial, and other clients. You will work on a wide variety of tasks both independently and with peers in the Atlanta, GA office and throughout the company. You will interface with our unique Market Solutions group and get facetime with other subject matter experts within Jacobs. As a Primary Subject Matter Expert in Hydraulic Modeling, you will be called upon to help support multiple projects throughout Jacobs. This is a great opportunity for your professional and personal growth as you dive into our diverse and fast‑paced office and expansive portfolio of projects both locally and globally.Development, calibration, and interpretation of water distribution, wastewater, and stormwater modelsUse models to understand system performance and help the design of system improvements and enhancementsEvaluate, select, and apply standards of advanced engineering and modeling techniquesUse models for master planning and conceptual studiesSewer evaluation studies involving RDII analysis and development of flow monitoring programsField work and planning for water distribution model calibration and validation, including hydrant fire flow testing, HGL testing, pressure monitoring, and flow meteringWater quality and transient modelingDevelopment of hydraulic profiles for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including design input and coordination for conveyance for state‑of‑the‑art treatment plantsNon‑revenue water and water loss control evaluations and studiesEngage in programming, statistical analysis, and data researchAnalyzing, managing, and interpreting data using ArcGIS softwareUtilize project management skills to propose, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects effectivelyPerform technical writing and client presentations to convey key messages, derived from complex technical documentation, in a simple and clear mannerParticipate in our global technical communities of practice in collection system modeling, water distribution system modeling, wet weather management, stormwater, and system optimizationQA/QC of models, reports, and deliverablesPrepare and deliver presentations at local and national professional organizations such as GAWP, AWWA, and WEFWhat's required Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering10+ years of professional experienceExperience and in-depth knowledge of modeling software.
