We are seeking an experienced Sales & Use Tax Professional to support a six-month contract engagement focused on bringing the company's sales and use tax compliance current. This role will be responsible for researching, preparing, and filing delinquent and outstanding sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, while ensuring compliance with applicable state and local tax regulationsThe ideal candidate will possess strong technical sales tax knowledge, experience managing multi-state sales tax filings, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesReview historical sales and transaction data to identify unfiled or incomplete sales and use tax returnPrepare and file delinquent sales and use tax returns across multiple states and local jurisdictionReconcile sales tax liability accounts and investigate discrepancies between filed returns and accounting recordResearch state and local sales tax regulations to ensure accurate tax treatment and complianceCalculate tax liabilities, penalties, and interest associated with prior-period filingcoordinate with internal accounting, finance, and operational teams to gather supporting documentationRespond to notices from tax authorities and assist with resolution of outstanding compliance issuesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax,3+ years of sales and use tax compliance experienceDemonstrated experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returnsStrong understanding of state and local sales tax regulations and nexus requirementsExperience working with ERP systems and accounting software#J-18808-Ljbffr
