Learn more at www.jarrettfirm.com.The Role Cases are handed to you at the point of suit filing — after demand has been rejected or negotiations have reached impasse. From there, you own the file through resolution: discovery, depositions, motions practice, mediation, and trial when necessary. You will work alongside a shared paralegal and legal assistant pool and collaborate directly with the Managing Partner on strategy and case development.Most cases resolve through mediation or negotiated settlement during the litigation process. But we want someone who prepares every case as if it is going to trial — because that preparation is exactly what produces better results at every stage before trial.Core Responsibilities Own a litigation docket of personal injury cases from suit filing through resolutionManage all phases of discovery: written discovery, depositions, expert witnesses, and medical record developmentDraft and argue motions, including motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, and motions in limineTake and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and expertsRepresent clients at hearings, status conferences, and court appearances in Georgia State and Superior CourtsPrepare cases for and attend mediations; negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurersTry cases to verdict when settlement is not in the client's best interestCommunicate proactively with clients on case status, strategy, and expectationsCoordinate with shared paralegal and legal assistant staff to execute case tasks efficientlyCollaborate with pre‑litigation team on incoming files to ensure smooth handoffsRequired Qualifications J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law schoolActive Georgia Bar membership in good standing2–4 years of civil litigation experienceHands‑on experience with Georgia civil discovery, court rules, and motion practiceDeposition experience (taking or defending)Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently under court‑imposed deadlinesStrong legal writing skills — motions, briefs, and correspondenceAbility to appear in person for hearings, depositions, and trials throughout Metro AtlantaPreferred Qualifications Plaintiff‑side personal injury or plaintiff civil litigation experienceTrial experience — first or second chair, bench or jury (any amount welcomed)Familiarity with Georgia OCGA Title 51 tort principles and insurance coverage conceptsExperience with legal case management software (Clio, MyCase, or similar)Prior experience working with a paralegal or support staff teamWho Succeeds in This Role We are not looking for someone who tolerates litigation on the way to something else. Court appearances will primarily be in Georgia State and Superior Courts across the Metro Atlanta area.This is not a fully remote role. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Metro Atlanta area to meet in-person court and deposition obligations. Active Georgia Bar membership required.
