The assigned facilities will be visited on a regular rotation.Position ResponsibilitiesEHS technical expert, responsible for the strategic planning, technical support and overall management of environmental, health, safety and industrial hygiene issues for the assigned regionTravel to assigned locations/facilities to lead, coach and conduct inspections to identify EHS hazards and determine corrective actionsLead EHS operating‑culture change using Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principlesLead and manage compliance programs, procedures and policies associated with federal, state and local regulations, acting as liaison with external legal and regulatory personnel and agenciesCollaborate with internal teams (Operations, Human Resources, IT) to embed EHS considerations into business practices, projects and new initiativesDevelop and implement a safety‑oriented strategy across the region, measuring and reporting key metrics; prepare reports and dashboards on EHS KPIs as requiredCreate action plans to meet specific environmental, health and safety objectives; employ a risk‑based approach to ensure implementation of life‑saving actionsMaintain and execute an EHS compliance calendar for all required regulatory and policy activities for all assigned locationsWork with regional leadership to ensure all key EHS operational controls are in place and that action items are resolved timelyConduct site visits and assessments to evaluate compliance with OSHA standards, prioritizing programs to address gapsReview and report EHS performance, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing preventative and corrective actionsOwn incident management and investigation; lead site‑level root‑cause investigations, develop and implement corrective actions, and track to closureMonitor and report status and effectiveness of EHS corrective and preventive actions; verify completionEnsure mandatory regulatory event reporting (OSHA, EPA, etc.) is completed on time with integrity (e.g., annual OSHA 300 log, notification of serious accidents, hospitalizations, death)Perform risk and hazard assessments (JSA) and PPE assessmentsDevelop and implement site emergency response plans, serving as emergency coordinator for eventsDrive proactive EHS excellence through cross‑functional cooperation, communication and training; work with EHS Training Team on development and deploymentMaintain required local systems for environmental permitting, analytical testing and record keeping to maintain compliancePartner with business leaders to promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention and regulatory complianceAdvise commercial/sales staff on EHS implications of new or changed services and/or product offeringsOwn audit actions to ensure regulatory complianceMaintain accurate and timely EHS record keeping, document management and effective case managementCoordinate all regulatory and company‑required EHS testing and training, collaborating with the “E” and “H” teamsEstablish and foster mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external clients, communicating and influencing effectively at multiple levels to achieve resultsHave awareness of chemical industry practicesAssist internal/external legal counsel in preparing legal and technical defenses in regulatory enforcement actions and related mattersStay current on regulatory and industry trends, best practices, and participate in relevant industry associations and groupsQualificationsBachelor's degree in EHS or related science field (highly desired); master's degree preferred.
