These semester‑based positions report directly to the Department Chair and may be taught face‑to‑face, online, hybrid or blended. Positions are on an as‑needed basis and require additional time outside of class for written feedback and individual student meetings. Faculty may teach in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Classes are scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and evening, including weekends.ResponsibilitiesDevelop course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with the upper‑division program requirements and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.Evaluate students to measure progress in achieving institutional and course goals.Submit required paperwork related to instruction in a timely and accurate manner.Required QualificationsA minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.Preferred QualificationsTerminal degree in the teaching discipline.1‑year college‑level teaching experience.Sustained professional engagement that demonstrates relevance and currency in the field of teaching.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesStrong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, and service to the college and community.
