Position SummaryLivable Buckhead is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the long-term sustainability and prosperity of the Buckhead community. Through these programs, Livable Buckhead works to enhance the quality of life and economic strength of the community.The Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding Livable Buckhead's network of business partners, sponsors, and members across the Buckhead district. This role serves as the primary outward-facing representative to the Buckhead business community, cultivating relationships with companies, property owners, employers, and institutions to grow the organization's membership base and sponsorship support.This is a relationship-driven sales role focused on identifying new partnership opportunities, developing a strong prospect pipeline, securing sponsorships, and recruiting businesses to participate in Livable Buckhead initiatives. The Business Development Manager actively builds and manages their own pipeline of prospective partners and is responsible for converting those relationships into memberships, sponsorships, and program participation.Because Livable Buckhead's work spans multiple initiatives – from transportation and employer programs to district events and partnerships – the Business Development Manager must collaborate closely with internal staff to develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization's work in order to effectively represent and position Livable Buckhead within the business community.The position reports to the Executive Director.Key ResponsibilitiesMembership DevelopmentLead efforts to grow Livable Buckhead's business membership base.Identify and recruit businesses in Buckhead to become members and partners of the organization.Conduct regular outreach meetings with prospective members and partners.Develop strategies to expand membership participation across Buckhead industries and sectors.Maintain strong relationships with existing members to encourage long-term engagement and retention.Sponsorship and Partnership DevelopmentSecure sponsorships for Livable Buckhead programs, initiatives, and events.Identify new corporate partnership opportunities within the Buckhead business community.Develop and present partnership opportunities aligned with organizational initiatives.Maintain relationships with sponsors and partners to deepen engagement across multiple programs.Pipeline Development and ManagementDevelop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective members, sponsors, and business partners.Proactively identify and pursue new business relationships throughout Buckhead.Manage prospects through the full engagement cycle from introduction to membership or sponsorship commitment.Track outreach activities, meetings, and partnership opportunities in Salesforce or other CRM systems.Business Engagement in ProgramsIntroduce businesses to Livable Buckhead programs including transportation initiatives, employer programs, district initiatives, and organizational events.Connect partners with the appropriate program leads within the organization.Identify opportunities for partners to engage across multiple Livable Buckhead initiatives.Program Knowledge, Internal Collaboration, and Market FeedbackWork closely with Livable Buckhead staff to develop a deep understanding of the organization's programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.Collaborate with program leads to identify partnership opportunities aligned with specific initiatives.Maintain strong internal communication to ensure partners are connected to the most relevant programs and opportunities.Provide feedback to the communications team based on direct engagement with Buckhead businesses to help ensure organizational messaging resonates with the business community.Share insights from prospective and existing partners regarding priorities, interests, and emerging trends within the Buckhead business community.Continuously build knowledge of Livable Buckhead's work in order to effectively represent the organization and its programs to business partners.District RepresentationRepresent Livable Buckhead within the Buckhead business community through meetings, networking events, and industry gatherings.Build relationships with business leaders, employers, commercial property owners, and institutions across the district.Position Livable Buckhead as a trusted partner and resource for businesses operating in Buckhead.Event and Partner EngagementRecruit business partners and sponsors to participate in Livable Buckhead events and initiatives.Participate in partner-facing events and networking opportunities to strengthen business relationships.Maintain regular engagement with partners to support long-term participation.Partner Visibility and Social MediaCreate and publish social media content highlighting new business partners, sponsorships, and collaborations.Work with the communications team to ensure partner recognition aligns with Livable Buckhead messaging and branding.Capture photos, updates, and highlights from partner meetings, sponsorships, and events to showcase business engagement in the district.Help elevate the visibility of Livable Buckhead's partnerships and business network through regular digital engagement.Position ExpectationsStrong sales mindset with demonstrated ability to build relationships and secure partnerships.Ability to develop and manage an active pipeline of prospective partners.Self-directed approach to outreach, relationship development, and opportunity identification.Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of Livable Buckhead's complex programs and initiatives.Comfortable representing Livable Buckhead in external meetings and business networking environments.Work ScheduleEvening or weekend participation may occasionally be required for meetings or events.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in business or minimum of 5 years prior experience in comparable roleDesired Skills: Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
