HSE Consultant to support a mission-critical data center operation in
Atlanta, GA. This
contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for an EHS professional who enjoys working closely with clients, promoting workplace safety, and supporting operations in a highly technical environment. This position serves as a key safety resource for a large data center and will oversee environmental health and safety initiatives while partnering with client teams to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (some flexibility available).
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: - Support and oversee Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs within a data center environment
- Serve as a safety resource for employees, contractors, and client stakeholders
- Monitor day-to-day data center operations from a health and safety perspective
- Assist in identifying and implementing programs that meet regulatory requirements and client needs
- Evaluate existing safety programs and recommend improvements when necessary
- Maintain safety plans, procedures, playbooks, and documentation to ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Conduct safety observations, audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Partner closely with client teams and operational staff to promote a strong culture of safety
- Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions, and safety-related reporting
- Deliver or support safety training initiatives, including CPR, First Aid, and other workplace safety programs as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve safety performance while supporting operational goals
- Communicate safety-related information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders
- Certifications as required by local government.
Must Have Qualifications: - Experience in Environmental Health & Safety, occupational safety, risk management, or a related field
- Some level of electrical knowledge or hands-on electrical experience
- Ability to work effectively in a data center or technical operations environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience interacting directly with clients and operational teams
- Ability to evaluate risks, solve problems, and make sound decisions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Nice to Have Qualifications: - Data center experience
- Experience conducting safety training programs
- CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
- OSHA certifications or other safety-related credentials
- Experience leading safety audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field
