Role OverviewSupport 24/7 365 television transmission facilities that provide primary network distribution and contribution resources to the News, Sports, and Entertainment divisions. Key functions include network restoral, problem diagnoses, quality control, preventive maintenance, installation, and documentation of sophisticated television transmission systems.ResponsibilitiesMaintenance – troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems. Provide shift coverage and serve as Tier 1 support for all compression-related issues.Projects – participate in planning, installation, and integration of new or replacement equipment and systems. May lead smaller projects.Quality Control – ensure outgoing and incoming signals and content are at the highest quality, apply best practices, and maintain quality control of installation equipment and documentation.Customer Service – provide the highest quality customer service to primary customers including Teleport operations, Distribution technology, CNN satellites/SNG, TEN and the TBS networks.Qualifications5 to 8 years of Compression Engineering experience or equivalent.Four-year technical degree or two-year technical degree with equivalent experience.Understanding of networking/routing protocols, UDP, unicast, multicast.Knowledge of video standards related to transport (SD/HDSDI, ASI, IP, other compression formats).Proficiency in AutoCAD and Visio.Experience with MPEG encoding systems, Cisco, Arris and Harmonic platforms.Desirable SkillsExperience in studio, network operations, and digital television distribution.IT data certifications.Cable TV and IPTV experience.Remote monitoring and control system experience (SNMP-based).Knowledge of MPEG-2, MPEG-4, J2K, multiplexes and conditional access.Must possess the legal right to work in the United States.Equal Opportunity EmployerWarner Bros.
