This role oversees inventory transactions across purchasing, receipts, in-transit movements, reserves, cost changes, and valuation while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The position leads inventory-related month-end close processes, supports audits, and partners cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams to improve reporting efficiency and financial visibility.Key Responsibilities:Inventory Accounting ManagementOversee end-to-end inventory accounting processes and ensure accurate transaction recording.Reconcile inventory accounts and validate inventory movements.Analyze inventory variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.Manage purchasing, receipts, in-transit inventory, reserves, adjustments, cost changes, and valuation.Month-End CloseLead inventory-related close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.Prepare and analyze inventory financial reports for accuracy and completeness.Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to resolve discrepancies.Process Improvement & Internal ControlsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.Support internal and external audits, including inventory control reviews.Financial Reporting & AnalysisProvide detailed inventory reporting and analysis to support decision-making.Monitor inventory turnover, obsolescence, reserves, and valuation adjustments.Support ad hoc financial analysis related to inventory and SG&A as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.CPA or CMA preferred.5+ years of inventory accounting or financial reporting experience.Strong knowledge of inventory accounting principles and GAAP.Experience with SAP and advanced Excel skills.Proven ability to implement process improvements.Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.Knowledge of inventory costing methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average).Benefits:Competitive compensation package.Opportunity to partner closely with operations and supply chain leadership.High-impact role with visibility into core business operations.Senior Inventory Accountant role overseeing GAAP-compliant inventory accounting, SAP reporting, month-end close, valuation, and process improvements in manufacturing.#J-18808-Ljbffr
