JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to support our operations by supporting the accounting function through accurate financial reporting, account analysis, and general ledger maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial data and assisting with month-end close processes.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESReview, analyze, and audit general ledger (GL) accounts for accuracy, completeness, and proper classificationAssist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliationsPrepare and distribute financial reports to management, providing insights and explanations for variances as neededMonitor financial activity and identify inconsistencies, recommending corrective actions when necessaryMaintain supporting documentation for all accounting transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policiesSupport internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and responding to inquiriesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and data integrityPerform other accounting-related duties and special projects as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance1-3 years of accounting experienceStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingProficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and WordHigh attention to detail and strong analytical skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalStrong technical skills and ability to streamline accounting best practicesAbility to problem solve and analyze events/transactionsAbility to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet work goalsExceptional accuracy and attention to detail skillsAbility to work well in a team environment and take directionSelf-motivated and able to work with limited supervisionOrganized with a strong work ethicStrong written, verbal, and quantitative skillsPREFERRED REQUIREMENTSExperience using the Blackline account reconciliation softwareExperience using Microsoft DynamicsSmartsheet experienceAccounting experience in the construction industryPublic accounting experience is a plusWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTSWork is normally performed in a typical interior/office environmentNo or very limited exposure to physical risk.No or very limited physical effort required.Some travel is requiredMoving Safety Forward, our initiative for continuous improvements in our safety culture, reminds us that we are on a journey toward a zero-incident culture.
