Through a holistic approach, this position will advocate for and empower participants toward self‑sufficiency by providing needs assessments and offering advisement and guidance in the areas of academic, financial, career, social, and personal development. Responsibilities include advising (academic, career, personal, and financial), assisting in graduate/professional school preparation, conducting workshops, and tracking student records. The Educational Program Specialist should possess excellent communication skills necessary to develop a strong rapport with undergraduate students, faculty, and university staff.BenefitsGenerous benefits, including health, dental, vision, tuition assistance, retirement, etc.A knowledge‑sharing organization that works collaboratively with a variety of partners.Professional development opportunity and mentorshipA rapidly growing center within an academic settingKey ResponsibilitiesIdentify and recruit eligible participants for TRIO SSS ProgramMaintain a caseload of students and meet regularly with students to provide academic, career, social/personal, financial, and transfer/graduate/professional school advisement.Develop, plan, and facilitate seminars and workshops for program participantsCoordinate academic, cultural, and educational services/activities to meet objectives.Maintain detailed and accurate records of program data required for federal reporting purposes.Generate monthly reports and assist Director with annual performance reporting.Perform other duties as assignedAbility to make oral presentations to undergraduate‑level studentsPossess experience advising first‑generation college students and individuals with disabilitiesPhysical RequirementsThe position may require local travel between campuses to perform required duties, attend meetings, and other responsibilities.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Requires adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone, and in writing.
