This role will partner closely with the Senior Billing Manager and Legal Operations team to establish consistent credit policies, improve collections outcomes, and support strong cash flow across the firm.This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape processes, influence stakeholders, and contribute to the firm's continued growth—particularly as we expand into new client segments with varying risk profiles.RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate client creditworthiness and support the development of firm‑wide credit policiesRecommend and maintain credit limits and monitor client exposurePartner with internal stakeholders to implement appropriate retainer and prepayment practicesAssist in establishing onboarding standards for new clients, including credit checksCollections & Accounts Receivable Management Manage the collections process for outstanding accounts, including direct client outreachMeet regularly with Managing Directors and Project Managers to review outstanding accounts, address issues, and align on appropriate collection strategies and next stepsPartner with billing teams and client leads to resolve aged receivablesSupport escalation of delinquent accounts and recommend appropriate actionsNegotiate and monitor payment plans where neededCollaborate with Billing and Treasury to resolve client disputes and short paymentsIdentify root causes of disputes and recommend process improvementsReporting & Analysis Monitor and report on key AR metrics, including:Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)Aging reportsCollection trendsProvide insights and recommendations to improve cash flow and reduce write‑offsCross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with Finance, Billing, Project Intake and Legal Operations teamsSupport stakeholders across multiple offices, including international teamsHelp balance effective collections with maintaining strong client relationshipsQUALIFICATIONS 4–7 years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable (B2B preferred)Experience in professional services (legal, consulting, etc.)Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with senior stakeholders and clientsAnalytical mindset with experience reviewing financial data and AR reportsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve complex issuesBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferredPreferred Attributes Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a growing environmentStrong attention to detail with a process improvement mindsetExperience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, or similar)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working with international clients and stakeholdersSound judgment and professionalism when handling sensitive client mattersWillingness to take ownership and help build new processes from the ground upA rewarding career above all There are a lot of fine consulting firms out there.
