About the PositionVisante is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead our Specialty and Retail Pharmacy managed services. This role, under the direction of the Visante leadership team, will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for ambulatory pharmacy services onsite. Reporting to the Visante leadership team, this role involves overseeing all aspects of specialty and retail services, including operational, financial, programmatic, clinical, and personnel activities, to ensure superior patient care and customer service. The Director of Pharmacy will oversee the pharmacy team's performance and outcomes, adjusting plans and priorities as necessary to address resource and operational challenges effectively. This role has full oversight of specialty and retail services, ensuring that business and clinical goals are consistently exceeded. The Director will focus on delivering superior patient experience and driving business growth and development. Decisions will be guided by established policies, procedures, and organizational priorities, with guidance from Visante leadership on high‑impact decisions to ensure strategic and operational alignment.Additionally, this role will partner closely with Infusion Strategy, Revenue Cycle, Medication Access, 340B, and other Visante leadership teams, as well as client committees, leadership, and clinicians, to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness. This involves implementing quality assurance and improvement programs, managing human resources, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, evaluating operating and capital resource needs, and effectively managing financial productivity and budgeting to ensure effective resource utilization and fiscal responsibility.The Director will serve as an operational resource and participate in client and Visante strategic discussions on program expansion, payer network inclusion, limited distribution drug access, and contracting strategies. This role is directly accountable for overseeing operations across multiple locations, including pharmacy dispensing and clinical programs ensuring efficient and effective management.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and manage projects under the guidance of Visante Leadership, including the development, implementation, and execution of strategies for Specialty and Retail servicesScope, plan, and oversee client engagements, ensuring that quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met while collaborating with Visante teams and partners to meet engagement deliverables and execute client strategiesManage and oversee specialty pharmacy program, including education, training, policy and procedure development, strategic planning, business growth, compliance, and accreditation standardsEstablish and maintain effective operations at all client locations, focusing on improving efficiency, quality, and serviceOversee operations, including P&L budget, regulatory compliance, marketing initiatives, third‑party partnerships, and other service‑related activitiesAnalyze operational performance, recommend, and implement changes to enhance effectiveness while ensuring compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, and accreditation regulations.Interface with healthcare professionals, hospital staff, and hospital leadership to strengthen partnerships and drive business growth through referralsEnsure the pharmacy has an appropriately trained workforce to operate efficiently and safely, providing supervision and support for the professional development of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Medication Access Technicians, and support staffDemonstrate expertise in pharmacy practice and the organization's mission, including awareness of innovations in technology and practice within the professionAnalyze operational performance, recommend, and implement changes that improve effectivenessStay informed of operational and regulatory changes affecting specialty pharmacy servicesLead operational activities across the specialty and retail pharmacy programs, including: Marketing initiatives, Prescription capture, Contract pharmacy agreements, Policy creation and implementation, Accreditation processes, Clinical services, Medication access services, Call center services, Dispensing procedures, Licensing and compliance requirementsMaintain a thorough understanding of prescription billing and reimbursement, serving as a resource regarding billing inquiries and issuesOversees the purchase of drugs and supplies and ensures appropriate records and documentation are maintained according to established standards/proceduresEnsure compliance with the State Board of Pharmacy, CMS, and FDA regulations regarding the medication process (verification, compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing)Understand all specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, be accountable for achieving and maintaining necessary accreditation(s), and maintain organized and up‑to‑date documentation as required by accreditation bodiesAchieves and maintains specialty pharmacy accreditation (e.g., URAC, ACHC, etc.)Lead Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiencyEnsure adherence to established standards, client and Visante policies and proceduresPerforms additional duties as assigned by the Visante Leadership team, or designated supervisorEducationRequired: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) (Preferred) or B.S. Pharmacy (Required) from an accredited college or university.Preferred: Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.ExperienceRequired: Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience leading sales and/or operations in Specialty Pharmacy. Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a Profit and Loss (P&L) budget, including budget development.Proven ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex issues and implement strategies to resolve problems.
