Applicant must possess a minimum of a Master's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry and have expertise to teach courses such as General Chemistry, General Chemistry Lab, Organic Chemistry, and/or a survey course in Chemistry. Prior experience teaching at the college level is preferred. Normal teaching load is approximately seven courses per academic year. This position is not on tenure track.ResponsibilitiesTeaching and coordinating Chemistry courses as assigned (90%).Service on committees and other duties as assigned (10%).Required QualificationsEducational RequirementsA Master's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with at least 18 credit hours in chemistry and chemistry‑related courses (organic, analytical, inorganic, physical, pharmacology, toxicology, and biochemistry).Required ExperienceExperience teaching chemistry at the undergraduate level and coordinating courses and instructional laboratories.Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation requirements.Evidence of ability as a teacher.Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.Successful experience (waived for new faculty who meet all other requirements).Desirable personal qualities judged on interview, biographical data, and recommendations.Preferred QualificationsGraduate degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.Experience teaching chemistry at the undergraduate/college level.Salary and BenefitsSalary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds.
