Position SummaryThe Track Foreman installs, repairs, and maintains railroad track on the specified territory of the railroad. They oversee and supervise daily work activities for track construction and maintenance crews in compliance with the Federal Railroad Association (FRA) and company procedures and policies. The role ensures safe completion of work activities to meet customer expectations and company objectives.The Track Foreman demonstrates and adheres to the company values of safety, honesty, ownership, respect, and teamwork to ensure successful partnerships with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX's continued success.Essential ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operation, and the FRA.Promote and support the safety program and goals for all Maintenance of Way groups.Identify or locate track defects, develop repair plans, and identify materials, tools, equipment, and resources to ensure successful repairs are made and documented.Oversee and supervise daily work of crews and comply with FRA 213 and 214 track safety standards.Supervise the use of hand and powered tools for construction and maintenance tasks.Work with other employees to re-rail trains using necessary equipment.Drive company vehicles and operate Backhoe, Grapple Truck, Boom Truck, Regulator, and Tamper.Conduct job activity briefings with the crew; ensure subordinates are familiar with the duties.Perform CDL work to meet FMCSA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Subpart B requirements.Other DutiesWork safely to prevent on‑job accidents and injuries.Wear required protective equipment such as hard hats, hearing protection, safety‑toe boots or safety glasses.Maintain DOT qualifications.Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work.Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesGuide and direct subordinates, instilling pride, personal development, and team production.Assist in interviewing, hiring, discipline, and training processes for new employees.Ensure responsibilities of all subordinates are defined and understood.Set the example and lead a culture of mutual respect, cooperation, and attention to detail.Required Qualifications18 years of age or older.1–2 years of track maintenance experience.Operate hand tools and power tools, including wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, portable grinders, rail saws, spike pullers, track wrench machines, power drills, and track jack.Apply common sense in following detailed written or oral instructions.Read and follow safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, test materials, drawings, schematics, and procedure manuals.Basic shop math to calculate area, circumference, length, distance, and volume.Write legibly to complete routine reports and required testing.Pass written examinations on the safe operations of trains and Maintenance of Way standards.Familiar with Roadway Workers' Protection (RWP).Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn track inspection data management software.Effective communication with all levels of employees and business associates.Demonstrate problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.Professional integrity and accountability.Work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.Required Certifications and LicensesValid State Driver's License – CDL (or attain one within 90 days); pass medical certification and Driver Qualification File, and DOT Drug & Alcohol testing.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing, and/or Oil & Gas industries.High School Diploma or GED.Experience with ENSCO or other Track Inspection data management software.Preferred Certifications and LicensesQualified in Track Inspection as required by FRA.Roadway Worker Protection Qualified.Work EnvironmentExposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather: snow, rain, heat, and sub‑freezing temperatures.TravelDaily travel as needed during scheduled work hours.Physical RequirementsLifting: 136‑pound plate, latch bar, claw bar, impact wrench, portable derail, track jack, compromise bar, angle bar, and tools, parts and equipment (up to 65 lb).Push and pull activities involving manual track wrenches, spike pullers, era bow switches, hydraulic spike drivers, and rail turner, with forces ranging from 60 lb to 174 lb.Reaching, handling, and fine motor manipulation tasks as required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
