Position OverviewSenior Director, Development at Warner Bros. Discovery is responsible for managing Agile development teams within the product development organization and guiding architectural decisions. The director ensures proper implementation of our SDLC and the optimal performance of the development teams, continuously improving the development workforce and right‑sizing the development capacity.Must work a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) out of our Atlanta office.The director must be very knowledgeable in media workflows for News and fully conversant in current AI technology.ResponsibilitiesOversees the agile development teams and leads and manages 5 or more development team managers.Provides guidance, advice, mentoring, coaching, and career development to team managers, assisting them in motivating teams around business objectives.Works with the product development leadership team (direct reports of the Product Development VP) to continuously improve product development processes, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and efficient value delivery.Ensures product development processes remain efficient and sustainable long‑term.Provides architectural guidance across all media applications and AI‑based solutions.Delivers business value by ensuring agile development teams are aligned with the organization's ITSM goals and principles.Builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with customers, users, and other stakeholders to ensure agile teams are aligned with delivery of business value.Creates and maintains relationships with internal partners, vendors, and the broader industry to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation and technology.Qualifications & Experience12+ years managing multiple development teams10 years experience building and sustaining a mid to large size development organization5+ years experience in a sustaining engineering role for existing/legacy enterprise solutions7+ years experience managing Agile software development teamsCurrent and deep knowledge of key agentic coding technologiesEducationBS degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experienceAgile development certification (Scrum‑master, product owner, or other)Championing Inclusion at WBDWarner Bros.
