Hourly Teacher Tutor
The Hourly Teacher Tutor implements instructional activities for students. They will provide academic support and guidance in reading and/or mathematics for students in the program.
Minimum Requirements:
- Certification: Minimum of SRT4-Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field (P-5); OR Passed the GACE Program Admissions Assessment or have exemption eligibility AND passed the GACE in Early Childhood Education
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required with at least a 2.5 GPA
- Work Experience: Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements

Essential Duties:
- Provides academic support and guidance in Mathematics and/or Reading/ELA for elementary, middle or high school level
- Provides tutorial services to students eligible for Title I services
- Provides evaluation/assessment data to the Office of Federal Grants and Program Compliance
- Provides feedback of tutorial service outcome to parents
- Participates in pre and post planning program activities
- Supports and promotes the vision and mission of the district
- Models and requires the use of management practices that promote high-performance, ethical behavior, collegiality, teamwork, and fairness
- Creates and sustains a positive and collaborative environment for central and school-based staff
- Maintains working relationships with administrative management and school site staff to support the integration of educational program management
- Responds to inquiries or complaints from stakeholders in a timely manner
- Represents the district in a positive and professional manner
- Involves stakeholders in the strategic planning process
- Consistently solicit stakeholder input and feedback during plan implementation
- Keeps abreast of current research, theory, and trends in the area of district and school administrative services and provide leadership in these areas as appropriate to the district's needs
- Demonstrates skills in written and oral communication, planning, and organization
Physical Abilities & Working Conditions:
- Vision: Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolonged periods
- Hearing: Ability to tolerate exposure to noisy conditions
- Speech: Ability to be understood in face-to-face communications, to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone or computer
- Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head
- Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis. Incumbent may be required to physically restrain parties involved in a conflict
- Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors
- Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Understand how to manage stress

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $35.00 per hour Work Year: 15 hours per week for 36 weeks
