OverviewHow you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)The Operations Data Strategy & Enablement (ODSE) team isseeking highly motivated and curious individuals who are excited to leveragedata to improve the operations.ODSE enables the Operations Analytics organization byproviding a unified, modern data foundation that improves data quality,accelerates insights, and empowers faster, smarter decision‑makingacross the business.The Co-Op will work closely with analytics professionals inthe operation supporting one of the following functions or departments:·Integrated Operations Planning (IOP) – Optimizingaircraft schedule and resource availability to maintain peak on-timeperformanceOperationsDigital & Decision Science (ODDS) – Developing decision science toolsand digital product solutionsCorporateSafety, Security & Compliance (CSSC) – Supporting the safety andsecurity of the airline and its employeesAirportCustomer Service (ACS) – Improving airport processes and managingperformanceCrew –Improving Pilot and Flight Attendant operations and performance efficiencyDeltaConnection (DC) – Supporting end to end analytics and cross-divisionaloperational initiatives and improvements for the operation of Delta'sregional airlinesFlightOperations (FOP) – Managing aircraft and gate to gate operations andperformanceOnboardServices (OBS) – Optimizing process, supply, and inventory of inflightproducts and servicesIn-FlightServices (IFS) – Enhancing customer onboard experience and cateringoperations and performanceOperations& Customer Center (OCC) –Ttracking on-time flight metrics, weather,day-of flight analysesCentral– Managing centralized operations and competitive performance analysesThough individual responsibilitieswill vary by supporting division, some functional examples include:Analyticsengineering - build data pipelines & re-usable patterns (ETL/ELT) thattransform raw sources into curated, analysis‑ready datasetsDatamodeling - curate an operations-oriented ontology to build a scalablesemantic layerDatagovernance - steward good data management processes & standards(documentation, quality, access control, lineage, catalog)Datawrangling - research, analyze, and interpret operational data to solvecomplex business problemsTechnicaldata product management - drive "product" mindset for buildingscalable data solutions that provide business valueAutomatedreporting - develop frameworks that enable faster reports & dashboardsfor insights generationDataplatform testing - pilot and test out new data platform and tools that maybenefit the operations analytics organizationDataoptimization - identify opportunities to enhance operational metrics &processesStudents are required to complete threealternating semesters of work and school; all rotations must becompleted before the student's graduation. Note: Students are notpermitted to work part-time hours and should refrain from taking classes andworking as a co-op in the same semester.
