Job OverviewSearch Solution Group is seeking a Head of eCommerce on behalf of our client, a leading retailer of pre‑owned cameras and lenses. This leadership role will centralize ownership of the eCommerce function to accelerate digital growth and enhance the online customer experience as a long‑term competitive advantage. The Head of eCommerce will oversee the company's digital business performance end‑to‑end, driving conversion, customer retention, merchandising strategy, and revenue growth across online channels. This role is critical in aligning cross‑functional teams and implementing data‑driven strategies to optimize the customer journey and overall digital performance.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the eCommerce channel and digital growth strategy across sales and purchasing functions while supporting broader omnichannel objectives.Lead the end‑to‑end online customer experience across desktop and mobile platforms, including navigation, search, product discovery, personalization, and merchandising.Develop and execute annual, quarterly, and monthly eCommerce growth initiatives aligned with company priorities and commercial objectives.Manage site merchandising activities, including product placement, collections, upsell/cross‑sell strategies, and content refreshes.Oversee daily storefront operations, including content uploads, launch readiness, pricing accuracy, and site quality control.Drive conversion optimization through A/B testing, funnel analysis, and continuous improvements across key customer touchpoints.Partner closely with Marketing to align digital campaigns, traffic sources, email, SMS, affiliate, and influencer efforts with conversion goals.Build and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting related to revenue, traffic, conversion, retention, average order value, and product performance.Collaborate with Product, IT, and development teams to improve platform stability, integrations, site speed, search functionality, security, and mobile performance.Manage agencies, vendors, and external platform partners while maintaining strong budget oversight and ROI accountability.Lead cross‑functional coordination to ensure a seamless and trusted digital customer journey.RequirementsEducationBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field required.Advanced degree preferred.Experience8+ years of eCommerce experience with significant ownership of a DTC or digitally led retail business.3+ years of senior leadership experience with responsibility for revenue growth, site performance, and cross‑functional execution.Proven success driving digital revenue, conversion optimization, and customer retention.Experience working in omnichannel or inventory‑led retail environments preferred.SkillsStrong expertise in Magento or comparable eCommerce platforms.Advanced understanding of UX/UI principles, merchandising strategies, and digital customer experience optimization.Experience with A/B testing, funnel analysis, lifecycle marketing, and personalization strategies.Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions.Excellent project management and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.Strong communication, leadership, and execution skills in fast‑paced environments.CertificationsRelevant eCommerce, digital marketing, analytics, or project management certifications are a plus.KnowledgeDeep understanding of eCommerce operations, analytics, customer acquisition, retention strategies, and online merchandising best practices.Familiarity with CRM/loyalty programs, search optimization, and digital marketing channels.Knowledge of technical retail, premium consumer products, re‑commerce, or enthusiast‑driven product categories preferred.Understanding of operational workflows including fulfillment, customer service, and inventory management.Key CompetenciesStrategic leadership and business acumenHands‑on operational executionData‑driven decision‑makingStrong analytical and problem‑solving abilitiesCross‑functional collaboration and relationship buildingCustomer‑centric mindsetAdaptability and sense of urgencyEffective communication and presentation skillsInnovation and continuous improvement focusHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a growth‑oriented environmentEqual Opportunity Employer StatementSearch Solution Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued and respected.
