Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift, 3x12.0
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide patient information and status in a timely manner for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
- Responsible for accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on the assigned unit, utilizing the nursing process for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning upon admission and provide relevant patient education leading up to the discharge date.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, delegating responsibilities appropriately.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to the functioning of the unit by providing calm direction and reassurance, engaging in team-building activities.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested, after the orientation period.
- Identify and pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN licensure required.
- BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
- PCU experience and previous Select experience highly desired.
Schedule
This is a night shift position, working 3x12-hour shifts per week.
