Job Description DPR Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator with at least 8 years of commercial construction experience. Estimators will work primarily on negotiated commercial projects within our core markets – healthcare, advanced technology, higher education, life sciences, and corporate office. Senior Estimators will work closely with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.Responsibilities Handle the project from first estimate all the way through subcontract formalization.Look beyond the information given, ask the right questions, and provide a complete project cost evaluation.Advocate for customers, empowering and informing them throughout the project.Provide innovative solutions to complex cost, lead‑time, trade partner, and material issues as they arise.Make reliable cost predictions and estimate across all scopes of work.Prepare detailed conceptual cost estimates and studies from schematic or feasibility documentation.Develop variance summaries between estimates and value‑engineering studies as design evolves.Assemble a complete, presentation‑worthy estimate package that clearly communicates project cost.Collaborate with project team to establish staffing and project requirements.Understand unit costs and factors that affect construction cost.Prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade‑specific clarifications, and comprehensive bid packages.Manage the bidding process: solicit bids, communicate with bidders, evaluate subcontractor proposals, use bid tally sheets, and recommend subcontractor awards.Participate in, and often lead, the preparation and presentation of cost/budget information to customers and owners.Engage and develop business with new and existing customers.Lead and facilitate value‑engineering sessions with project and design teams.Review construction contracts and identify key insurance and damage clauses.Lead, manage, and motivate project teams during the preconstruction phase.Qualifications Excellent listening and communication skills.Creative and innovative problem‑solving on a project basis.Ability to identify, adapt to, and resolve complex issues.Effective participation in a team environment with internal and external teammates.Proficient in Microsoft Office, estimating software (WinEst, Timberline, etc.), take‑off software (On‑Screen Takeoff, etc.), BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.), project management software (CMiC, etc.), and scheduling software (Primavera, etc.).8+ years of experience as a commercial construction estimator, preferably in DPR's core markets.Bachelor's degree desirable but not required.Strong work ethic and a can‑do attitude.This job is salaried.Equal Opportunity Employer DPR is an equal‑opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
