About Us Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campusis located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
Job Summary The Military Liaison acts as a point of contact and advocate for military-affiliated students (active duty, veterans, and dependents) and the university, facilitating their successful transition and academic journey. They help students navigate academic and administrative processes, connect them with relevant resources, and ensure compliance with military and educational regulations.
Sponsorship is not available for this position. Responsibilities - Report enrollment to the VA for educational benefits.
- Work with military affiliated students in completing paperwork for admissions, financial aid, and educational benefits.
- Maintain all records in regards to educational benefits.
- Build relationships within the community as a sense of support and connection for military students.
- Collect required documentation for military-related waivers and submit for processing by Registrar.
- Support targeted orientations and other events to aid in student success.
- Support retention efforts of military-affiliated students.
- Performs other job-related duties, as required.
Required Qualifications - Associate's Degree.
- At least one year of working in higher education or an office environment.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree.
- Previous experience as a School Certifying Official or experience with the Enrollment Manager systems.
- Knowledge of admissions, financial aid, VA benefits, degree programs, and Banner.
- Supervisory experience.
- Military experience.
