Job Description Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher K-12 2025-2026 School Year We are currently seeking a dedicated and student-centered Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support students across elementary, middle, and high school levels during the 2025-2026 academic year. This school-based opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about accessibility, inclusive instruction, and helping students with hearing differences thrive in the classroom and beyond.
In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and communication support tailored to each student's individual needs. You'll work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure students have meaningful access to instruction and are supported academically, socially, and communicatively. Your work will help build confidence, independence, and strong self-advocacy skills among students.
What You'll Be Doing: - Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Support effective communication among students, families, and school teams.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to improve access and engagement.
- Provide guidance and training to school staff to enhance services for DHH students.
- Provide direct instruction using appropriate communication methods and accommodations.
Requirements - Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and instructional planning skills.
- Valid Georgia Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
