This Legal Assistant role is tailored for an experienced professional in the field of insurance and medical malpractice defense. It supports two partners at a boutique-sized defense law firm and requires a strong understanding ofdefense litigation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Records Summaries: Reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical records to assist in case preparation.
- Deposition Summaries: Preparing concise summaries of deposition transcripts for use in case evaluation and strategy.
- Discovery Preparation: Handling documents related to the discovery process, including drafting and organizing materials.
- Scheduling: Managing calendars, court dates, meetings, and deadlines for the partners.
- Administrative Support: Providing general office assistance, including filing, billing, and document management.
Requirements: - Experience: 3 to 5 years in defense litigation is a must, ideally in medical malpractice or insurance defense. Candidates with experience in workers' compensation (WC) or personal injury (PI) are also considered if they are skilled in medical and deposition summaries.
