Position Summary: The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company to patients, providing safe, accurate, and professional blood collection services. The role is responsible for venipuncture, specimen processing, patient identification, documentation, and creating a positive patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform venipuncture and collect clinical and forensic specimens safely and accurately.
- Perform Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain required signatures following collection.
- Ensure specimens are correctly labelled in the patient's presence.
- Prepare and process specimens according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
- Follow all safety, health, confidentiality, and company policies.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and patient-focused environment.
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Travel between Patient Service Centers and physician offices as needed.
Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Strong phlebotomy and patient-service skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Keyboard and data-entry experience.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license, if applicable.
- Flexibility to support multiple locations and staffing needs.
Preferred Qualifications: - Phlebotomy certification.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- 2 years of Patient Service Center experience.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
