Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate electrical cost estimates for data centre projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications and client requirements.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
- Utilize software tools such as Accubid and Bluebeam to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates are aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions to gather necessary information for project estimation.
- Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and reports to internal teams and clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, with a focus on data centre projects.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software, particularly Accubid and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and construction processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in cost estimation or project management are a plus.
Day-to-Day
- Review and analyze project documentation to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimates align with project objectives.
- Use Accubid and Bluebeam to create detailed cost breakdowns and reports.
- Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to discuss project requirements and estimates.
- Monitor and update cost databases to reflect current market conditions.
- Provide support during the bidding process, including responding to client inquiries and revising estimates as needed.
- Track and report on project estimation performance to ensure continuous improvement.
