Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Float
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Float. The role involves providing essential nursing care in a dynamic environment, floating between units as needed while adhering to best practices and patient care standards.
Work Schedule
Weekend: Every other weekend required
Shift: Night shift – 3 shifts of 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00)
Block Schedules: Not available
Call Requirement
No on-call duties are required for this position.
Floating Requirements
Candidates may be required to float within the facility and must operate within their scope of practice as necessary.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required; the unit welcomes first-time travelers.
Compliance and Orientation
Full compliance with all required standards is mandated for timely start. Non-compliance may lead to delays of up to two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Orientation hours vary based on contract length.
Holiday Work Expectations
Travelers are expected to work during holiday periods depending on their assignment length:
One major holiday: Expected to work
Two major holidays: Expected to work both
Three major holidays: Expected to work two out of three
The major holidays include:
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one)
Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one)
New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
Clinical Screening
