Job Description: This clinician will be working primarily in blood bank. Weekend: Everythird. Call: None. Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed. Minimum Experience: 2 years - Unit does not accept first time travelers. Clinical Screen: Candidate will be reviewed by clinical to determine clinical fit, if clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines, candidate will be sent to the manager for final decision. Clinical screens will be sent on case-by-case basis. RTO: Max 7 days. Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major Holidays are listed below: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day. Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule. Locals accepted - Same rate.
Job Requirements & Qualifications: Previous Charge Experience: 2 years. Certifications: ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, ABB are acceptable in place of ASCP, MLT NOT accepted. Skills: 24 hour urine, ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, Accessioning, AHG Crossmatch, ANA (antinuclear antibody), Antigen Typing, ASO titer (Antistrepolysin O), Bleeding time, Blood banking procedures, Blood specimen storage, Body fluids, C3, C4, Total Complement, Cardiac Enzymes, CBC Manual, Crossmatch-Immediate Spin/IgG, Crystal identification, Electronic Crossmatch, Fibrin split products/FDP, Fibrinogen, Hormone/Thyroid, Hospital clinical laboratory, Immunoassay, Manual Differential, Manual macroscopic UA, Microscopic UA, Pipetting, Platelet aggregation, Platelet Count, Pregnancy test (urine or blood), Proper labeling, Quality assurance and controls, Rapid test kits general use; knowledge of controls, Reticulocyte Count, RPR (rapid plasma reagin), Sed Rate Manual, Specimen Collection, Thawing/Cooling of Blood Products, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Thyroid testing, Transfusion Reaction Workup, Transmission based precautions, Tumor Markers, Blood Bank Experience.
