PATIENT INFORMATION- Average Daily Volume: 10-15 ICU patients per APP
- Case Mix: Multi-specialty medical-surgical ICU
- Rounding: Included (multi-disciplinary rounds each shift)
FACILITY INFORMATION- EMR System: Cerner
- Support Staff Available: ICU nursing staff, attending physicians
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Temporary Privileges Available: Yes
REQUIRED PROCEDURES- Central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers)
- Arterial line insertions
JOB REQUIREMENTS- Board: Acute Care Certified (if NP candidate)
- Licenses: Valid national and state licensure (ACNP or PA)
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years as an APP in an ICU setting
- Other Qualifications: Case logs will be requested during credentialing
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage critically-ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting with an APP-to-patient ratio of 10-15 patients per APP (attending MD available)
- Collaborate with attending MDs to develop plan of care and communicate dynamic changes throughout shift
- Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions
- Perform order entry in Cerner EMR and document History and Physicals, Consultations, Event/Follow-up Notes, and Procedure Notes
- Perform invasive procedures including central line and arterial line insertions per hospital MSO credentialing
