You will serve as the primary legal advisor to business and operational leaders, managing litigation, leading subpoena management, and response, managing external counsel, and ensuring alignment of process and practice across businesses. As we centralize legal partnership and support—transitioning from a decentralized, external model—this role will be pivotal in driving more consistency across the enterprise while also providing a governance and oversight function.Your expertise will directly impact business continuity, risk management, and market reputation and relationships , while your collaborative, solutions-oriented approach will empower our teams to move efficiently through complex legal matters.Key ResponsibilitiesLitigation & Dispute ResolutionOwn and oversee active and pending litigation , coordinating with outside counsel, carrier partner counsel, and internal stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.Prepare and defend our experts for/in depositions and attend mediations .Regulatory & ComplianceRespond to subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and document/file requests , determining appropriate scope of production while safeguarding privileged and confidential information.Partner with internal teams to identify, collect, and review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.Risk Mitigation & AdvisoryProvide proactive legal guidance on professional liability exposures and risk strategies tied to business operations.Advise leadership on legal, regulatory, and operational matters impacting the enterprise.Manage occasional trademark matters.Process & ContractsReview, draft, and provide input on negotiation of commercial contracts (client, vendor, and service agreements) across business and functional areas.Support the development and implementation of enterprise-wide legal and compliance processes , including document retention, file content, and records management; Provide training and education on same.What You BringEducation & LicensingJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive bar membership in good standingExperience~10+ years in insurance services, claims handling, TPA, and/or expert services , with a focus on:Professional liabilityInsurance defenseLitigation managementCollaboration with outside counsel, carriers, and intermediary legal partnersHands‑on experience with subpoenas, document requests, and complex productionsContract lifecycle management : drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.Skills & MindsetDeep understanding of the insurance claims process and industry landscapeStrong research, analytical, and problem‑solving skillsExceptional written and oral communication – ability to distill complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.Highly organized , with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity, growth‑oriented environmentConsultative and collaborative – a trusted partner to business leaders and operational teamsWhy Cor Partners?Join a dynamic, mission‑driven organization where your legal expertise will have a direct impact on our growth and client success.
