Koch is seeking a highly-motivated intellectual property attorney with strategic thinking skills, a contribution mindset, and leadership experience to join our integrated IP Legal Capability as Counsel or Senior Counsel. This role supports the diverse, global businesses of the Koch companies in all aspects related to IP, with a focus on trademarks, copyrights, and domain names and can be located in Atlanta, GA, Lisle, IL, or Wichita, KS.What You Will DoWork on a broad range of trademark, trade dress, and copyright matters, including enforcement, litigation, disputes, transactions, clearance, licensing, settlements, and provide guidance to the trademark paralegal team on domestic and international prosecutionCoach and mentor the trademark paralegal team and deliver thought leadership to IP Capability managementProvide strategic counseling to various Koch companies on global trademark and domain name portfolios, and, in collaboration with the trademark paralegals, efficiently manage domestic and foreign outside counselEvaluate and handle copyright questions related to online content and social media, identifying and advising on issues related to fair use, rights of privacy and rights of publicity, and use of third‑party and consumer‑generated contentNegotiate and draft various IP agreements, including trademark and copyright licenses and talent releasesPerform IP due diligence and drafting and negotiate IP‑related terms for M&A transactions as part of the deal teamAdvance the IP team's transformation through the execution of initiatives that optimize processes and advance the adoption of AIBasic QualificationsJuris Doctor from an accredited law school and State bar admission in good standing5+ years of previous experience in trademarks, copyrights, and domain namesExperience providing IP analysis for M&A due diligence and drafting and negotiating acquisitions and divestituresPreferred QualificationsExperience leading, supervising or mentoring teams and/or projectsExperience with patents, trade secretsExperience with rights of privacy and rights of publicityExperience practicing in‑houseExperience with IP litigationDemonstrated experience developing and using AI tools for improving trademark prosecution/processesFor this role, we anticipate paying $180,000 - $240,000 per year.
