Position PurposeThe Manager, Pricing Strategy will provide subject matter expertise, project management, and analytical support to the development and execution of Pricing Strategies. The Manager will understand the needs of constituencies, including merchants, the Pro team, and subsidiaries, to develop and test hypotheses as well as work with the development team to prioritize IT development. They will work with cross-functional partners, including marketing, ops, strategy, and others to ensure end-to-end thinking on strategy and execution. The Pricing Manager will manage Senior Analysts to support corporate-level pricing initiatives and advocate for implementing pricing best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop relationships with cross-functional partners to collaborate and determine company goals and objectives, conduct standard and ad-hoc analysis to identify key drivers of performance, recommend pricing decisions and strategies that will improve category performance and develop financial plans that reflect pricing changes (50% of role).Typical analysis includes: marketplace and macroeconomic trends, customer segmentation and responsiveness, line structure engineering, localization (pricing zone definition), promotional effectiveness, transaction and basket penetration, consumer psychology.Develop executive-level presentations that summarize analysis including historical performance, strategic rationale underpinning pricing decisions and expected financial impact.Report out to all levels of management. Accountable for accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, timeliness, and viability of recommendations.Develop communication to leadership to gain alignment and partner with IT and other cross-functional teams to prioritize efforts that support the execution of strategies (50% of role).Supervise work activities of others, including planning, monitoring, reviewing, selecting, terminating, performance appraisal and professional development.Direct Manager/Direct ReportsReports to Sr Manager Pricing.Has 2-3 direct reports.Travel RequirementsTypically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Physical RequirementsMostly seated; occasional light lifting or movement.Working ConditionsLocated in a comfortable indoor area.
