External applicants must be eligible to work in the US.Your RoleThe Area Business Manager (ABM) is accountable for the strategic business management and sales results within a defined territory, serving as the sales lead between customers and EMD Serono. Working in collaboration with the Thought Leader Liaison, the ABM focuses on building customer alliances and establishing product market leadership by identifying customer needs and delivering customer‑centered solutions. The role requires strong consultative selling skills, keen analytical skills, and the ability to quickly establish a network of business relationships in the fertility market.Daily travel up to 60% with occasional overnight travel within the territory covering Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia & Alabama.Key AccountabilitiesDisplay the highest level of professionalism, ethical behavior, and integrity in all aspects of the ABM role.Consistently achieve territory sales goals and objectives consistent with Company and Therapeutic Area guidelines, as well as PhRMA guidelines.Commit to continuous personal development and improvement in alignment with the Competency Model.Demonstrate a strong collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer needs.Demonstrate critical analysis and planning skills in reviewing data, identifying and understanding trends, and developing and executing relevant action plans.Maintain a superior level of knowledge regarding products, market dynamics, reimbursement processes, formulary considerations, managed care, and customer insights.Drive the expansion of new prescribers while reinforcing existing prescribers within the territory, cultivating comprehensive “total office relationships” essential for effective customer engagement.Plan and implement effective professional and patient education programs that enhance understanding and engagement.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the fertility medical community, with a high‑science approach focused on identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in any discipline5+ years sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated success in sales performanceA valid and active driver's licensePreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other scientific discipline, or MBASales experience in the fertility sector and ability to quickly establish a network of business relationships in the fertility marketSolid business acumenComprehensive understanding of managed care and reimbursement systems, with experience in implementing effective pull‑through strategiesStrong personal accountability and ownership for achieving resultsProven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across diverse teams to successfully achieve objectivesAbility to manage multiple tasks, initiatives, and projects concurrentlyCustomer‑focused, energetic, flexible, enthusiastic, and results‑drivenOpen communication, constructive debate, informed decision‑making, and commitment to shared outcomesWillingness to take risks and stand up for what is right while prioritizing the needs and experiences of customers and patientsAbility to streamline processes to focus on what matters and act quickly to adapt to changesEmbrace new ideas, challenge the status quo, seek innovative solutions, respect diverse perspectives, and treat others with respect and dignitySalary and BenefitsPay Range: $148,700 – $223,100. The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job‑related factors.
