Senior Staff Research Scientist IX: Computational ChemistFull-timeHexagon Lavish® is an antiartificial scientific R&D startup based in Atlanta, Georgia that specializes in performance of immediate materials characterization and information retrieval technique development and implementation. The company's introductory product, PIR: Premier Information Retrieval, is informational interpretation software and service that amplifies and maximizes the utility of computer vision and image processing.Hexagon Lavish® is an antiartificial scientific research and development startup in Atlanta, Georgia that has an opening for a full-time/permanent position for a Computational Chemist. The Computational Chemist will be required to draw emphasis on computational capabilities beyond measure to expand upon the concurrent research and development concerning informational interpretation by implementing reaction dynamics and molecular dynamics as well as molecular orbital theory. The Computational Chemist will need to know how to take "the impractical and make it practical".The Computational Chemist will work in concert with the Materials Scientist in materials characterization and informational interpretation in regards to identity functions as they relate to "a material's emergence" ("object tagging").The Computational Chemist will report directly to the Chief Science Officer.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESParticipate in the generation and exploration of ideas using cheminformatics toolsGenerate predictive models for physical property calculationsParticipate in project planning and executionCreate and manage databasesCharacterize solid materials by measuring loss on ignition, bulk density, absorption, gradation and moisture contentExploit the mechanics of materials sensitive/insensitive to light diffractionDiscover and implement manipulations of organic/inorganic structuresUtilize different numerical approximations for two-particles solutionsEngage in the Extended Huckel TheoryModel the "behavior" of molecules in specific objects (i.e., food) using simulations and camera applicationsDesign, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains programsAdapt recent innovations from computing technology and applied mathematicsApplies existing custom research software to both well-defined and complex problemsAdhere to project-specific software development guidelines and practicesMaintain strong dedication to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethicsGather, record, analyze, interpret, and provide written reports of resultsUnderstand and apply advanced scientific principles, theories, concepts, practices and standards to process and analytical developmentCANDIDATE PROFILEExperience with developing and testing numerical environmental prediction codes in a high-performance computing environmentTeamwork and the ability to clearly communicate complex ideasPh.D. (with 4 years of industrial experience) in a relevant discipline (immunology, chemistry, engineering, biomaterials or related physical sciences)Active collaboration with teaming partners, research facilities and academic organizationsDemonstrated skill in communicating effectively with scientists of diverse backgrounds on technical details of the work plan and present results accurately and clearly in both oral and written formPrepare and deliver reports and/or presentations of research projects/analysis results to the Chief Science OfficerApply safety-related knowledge, skills and practices to mundane duties and responsibilities to workPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICSBe contributory to the statistical endeavors of the company's projectsAbility to form team consensus on design choices and execution plansStrong analytical skills; experience interpreting strategic plans and changes in how services are delivered into a long-term sustainable operating modelExcellent relationship-building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholdersEXPECTATION OF ABILITIESStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbally and in written formMust demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of Hexagon Lavish® mission, vision and valuesHarbor the ability to work well with people and be able to work efficiently and effectively an integral part of an interdisciplinary teamMust demonstrate a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, respect for others and the ability to deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive informationBASE SALARY for this position is conditioned by a "24-schedule" that awards a certain amount per hour. This position is a full-time/permanent position and requires a "24-schedule" that equates to a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.Hexagon Lavish® is an equal opportunity employer and sets a fair-point perspective on all candidates. All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.By clicking the link above or any third-party link within this posting, you are leaving this site and going to a third-party website where the third-party website's terms and privacy policy apply.#J-18808-Ljbffr
