Job DescriptionWe are seeking a high-potential Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Atlanta. Operating within a fast-paced environment, you will manage core general ledger maintenance, month-end closings, financial reporting, and complex commission structures.About The OpportunityCompensation - $76,000 - $84,000 annual base salaryLocation - Atlanta, GA 30345Benefits - Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, as well as 401(k), 15 days PTO, Short & Long Term Disability, and AFLACHybrid Schedule - Three days in office per weekPromotional Opportunity - 18-24 month advancement to a Senior AccountantYour ResponsibilitiesMonthly Accounting Responsibilities - Assist in monthly financial closings including monthly journal entries and subledger reconciliation.Maintain balance sheet accounts and subledger reconciliations.Oversee accounting on non-revenue companies.Support budgeting and forecasting activities.Financial Reporting - Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.Reconcile bank statements and record related accounting entries.Analyze and report weekly cash activity.Commission - Balance and post all commission transactions.Coordinate posting of commission adjustments.Provide advisor tracking.Documentation - Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.Other duties as assigned .Required ExperienceExperience - Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience and related knowledge of GAAP, general ledger maintenance and month-end closes.Advanced Excel - Experience using pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF functions, and importing/exporting data.Industry Background - Experience in the financial services or related industry.Confidentiality - Ability to maintain and claim responsibility for confidential information and documents.Interpersonal Relationships - High level of relationship skills essential with the ability to handle sensitive, stressful situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.Credentials - Series 27 and Associates or Bachelor's degree (Highly Preferred).Specialization - Above-average ability to be flexible, organize, manage time and set/shift priorities while meeting deadlines.Collaboration - Team player with the ability to cultivate a team spirit within the department as well as maintain interdepartmental guidelines and procedures.#J-18808-Ljbffr
