Company: Gerber Collision & GlassJob Description: The Auto Body Technician's primary responsibility and accountability is to provide an exceptional customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer's vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition. The Technician thoroughly disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle, aligning with team goals and maintaining the company's promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence.Key Job ResponsibilitiesEnsure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers, using tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.Fix dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.Realign car chassis and frames to address structural damage.Remove damaged sections of vehicles and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.Replace or repair interior parts as required.Weld and fit parts into place, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or an agreed‑upon equivalent.Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure accuracy.Perform other related duties as assigned.Education and/or Experience RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.Required Skills/AbilitiesAbility to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.Ability to collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.Proficiency in using tools required for the trade.Other RequirementsMust be able to work safely in a noisy environment with strong odors.Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage under various weather conditions.Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat during repairs and inspections.Benefits That Drive Your SuccessAnnual Paid Time Off (PTO) plansTwo weeks of paid parental leave for full‑time employees working a minimum of 30 hours per weekSix paid holidays annuallyMedical, prescription drug, dental & vision insurance effective Day 1401(k) retirement plan with company matchEmployer‑paid short‑term disability & life insuranceAdditional voluntary life insuranceContinuing education opportunitiesFree prescription or non‑prescription safety glasses annuallyAnnual voluntary uniform stipendCompensation Details$23 – $32 per hour flat rateFlat rate compensation is performance‑based, tied directly to turned hours (booked hours).
